A Day at Lekkey Salon — From Open to Close
Step inside Lekkey Salon in Bangkok for a full day — from the morning nano-spa warm-up to balayage, keratin, gel nails, and the after-work rush.
Morning (9:30–11 a.m.) — Getting set up and welcoming the first client
Opening up: Pi Lek arrives a little before opening to prepare the space, clean the chairs and mirrors, and check the stock of hair color, straightening solution, keratin, and nail supplies. Most important is warming up the nano-spa mist machine that's the salon's signature.
The first client: Usually someone who booked ahead through LINE or GoWabi, often here for a longer service like straightening or an all-over color, timed to finish by the afternoon.
Midday (11 a.m.–2 p.m.) — The peak and the technical work
Detailed work: Now the salon fills with the lovely scent of treatments, and Pi Lek starts on the technical jobs like balayage or highlights, which take focus and patient, careful painting.
Taking a break: The stylists take turns grabbing a quick lunch out back, eating fast and hurrying back, as walk-ins start trickling in to ask about the wait and regulars drop by for a wash and blow-dry over their lunch hour. The mood is full of easy, friendly chatter, and Pi Lek often gives honest, straight-to-the-point advice about hair — like talking with family.
Afternoon (2–5 p.m.) — Wrapping up keratin work and nails
Restorative work: More clients come in for keratin straightening or hair botox. Flat-ironing with heat takes real precision to get that mirror-like, glassy shine.
The nail corner: Some clients get gel nails done while their hair treatment sets, which makes the salon especially lively.
Evening (5–9 p.m.) — The after-work rush
The last stretch of bookings is another of the busiest times, as working clients stop in for a wash and blow-dry before an event, or come for a kitty-cut after work.
Closing up: After the last client heads out, Pi Lek cleans the tools, sterilizes the scissors and towels, reviews the next day's bookings, and closes up around 9 p.m. with a smile.
