Keratin, Balayage, Color, Perms & Extensions — How Long Does Each One Last?
How many months do keratin, balayage, hair color, perms, and extensions really last? Here's a quick guide from Lekkey Salon.
1. Keratin lasts 3–5 months, gradually washing out with each shampoo.
2. Balayage lasts 6–10 months. Because the technique doesn't color all the way to the roots, it blends seamlessly with your natural color as your hair grows out.
3. All-over color lasts 1–2 months. It starts to fade about 2–3 weeks after washing, and darker regrowth becomes visible at the roots, so you'll eventually need a root touch-up.
4. Perms last 4–6 months. The curls gradually loosen as your hair grows longer and heavier.
5. Extensions last 2–3 months. The bonds slide down as your hair grows, making them harder to maintain and uncomfortable on the scalp.
